Resources for Farms & Farmers
-
If you need support during this stressful time, please contact Farm First or call 2-1-1. Farm First is a free program providing farmers and their families with support, resources, and information to reduce stress.
-
There are relief funds available to Vermont farms via grants and/or loans:
-
The Northeast Organic Farming Association of Vermont (NOFA-VT) is providing support to impacted NOFA members through the Farmer Emergency Fund.
-
The Intervale is supporting Intervale Farms with the Farmer Recovery Fund.
-
The Center for an Agricultural Economy is supporting farmers with emergency loans through its Vermont Farm Fund.
-
- The Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food, and Markets has a comprehensive list of resources available for farmers here. In addition, the Agency has compiled this toolkit containing guidance, resources, and contact information to support agricultural recovery from recent flooding. The agency can be contacted at agr.floodresponse@vermont.gov or 802-828-2430.
- Additional resources for farms are available via Rural Vermont here.
- Currently, we are not hosting a formal application process for farms and farmers through the VT Flood Response & Recovery Fund but please know that we are recording multiple inquiries. Thereby, as funding allows and our strategies shift, we will be aware of specific needs. As the Foundation works with nonprofit organizations and state officials to learn where the need is and how to help, we will continue to provide updates.
We will continue to add to this list as information becomes available to us. If you are aware of an existing resource and would like to suggest we add it to this list, please email it to grants@vermontcf.org.
