Special and Urgent Needs: Irene Recovery Fund
Grants List

The Special and Urgent Needs (SUN) - Irene Recovery grant round was created to address the short-term needs of nonprofit and public sector organizations impacted by Tropical Storm Irene, as well as support community relief funds and programs that provide financial assistance to individuals and families affected by the storm. The following is a list of grants made from the SUN-Irene Recovery Fund (last updated 6/25/2012).

Boys & Girls Club of Brattleboro
$5,000 to support repairs and replace lost items due to damages from Tropical Storm Irene

Northeastern Vermont Development Association
$5,000 to support increased staff time necessary to assist local communities with disaster recovery following Tropical Storm Irene

Green Mountain Community Medical & Social Services (dba Neighborhood Connections)
$5,000 to support increased staff time necessary to provide services for displaced families and others impacted by Tropical Storm Irene

Central Vermont Community Action Council (CVCAC)
$5,000 to support increased staff time necessary to provide direct outreach and assistance services in towns affected by Tropical Storm Irene

Brattleboro Arts Initiative
$5,000 to help repair damages to the historic Latchis Hotel and Theatre caused by Tropical Storm Irene

Camp Waubanong
$5,000 to help repair damages to the driveway and entrance caused by Tropical Storm Irene

$5,000 to support increased staff time necessary to facilitate home sharing matches for displaced individuals, families, and others impacted by Tropical Storm Irene

Woodstock Community Trust
$4,500 to support building improvements and other expenses required to provide office space for response efforts following Tropical Storm Irene

$5,000 to support building repairs that will increase the capacity to provide housing for victims of Tropical Storm Irene

$5,000 to support children's writing workshops and author/illustrator visits to schools in communities impacted by Tropical Storm Irene
